Gemstones: 3 Stones for Energizing, Calming, and Clarity
Energy is everywhere—even when you can’t see it. Everything in existence vibrates at a subatomic level, according to quantum physics. And at its core, is energy. Voice recordings, satellites, body scans, and heat can sense energy.

There is a more basic way of sensing energy without the assistance of modern technology. Thousands of years ago, before our minds were cluttered with superficial information, intuition was the most accurate form of sensing the environment to pick up changes in the weather and danger. Our ancestors recognized there was power in certain gemstones, and they began using them for amulets, talismans, and other purposes.

The benefits of powerful gemstones have been known since ancient times and have been passed down by word of mouth from generation to generation.

Different gemstones can possess varying levels and qualities of energy depending on how—and where—they’re formed. Geologic forces deep within the earth produce gemstones. They are in a constant cycle of transformation. Some form quickly from the heat and pressure of volcanic or tectonic activity. Others are crystallized over millions of years in sedimentary layers near the surface of the earth’s crust.

These days, you don’t need to dig or scavenge for powerful gemstones. They’re easily found in stores, online, and at gem shows.

Gemstones have been used for different purposes, including giving the user a boost of energy or clarity. There isn’t much scientific evidence to back these claims, so take this as more of an entertaining and interesting read as opposed to a prescription for super powers. However, anecdotal testimony from early man to modern times describes various benefits from using gemstones. I have personally experienced tremendous benefits from dozens of gemstones, and have found that each have their own unique powers. Here are three of my favorites to get you started.

Tourmaline

Tourmaline is the most energizing stone I have ever experienced. It gives you a sense of power and balance at the same time. Tourmaline is believed to strengthen the body and spirit and inspire creativity; it was used extensively as a talisman by artists and writers many years ago. I had experienced those same benefits when I used it while writing.

Amethyst

Amethyst is widely known to be a meditative and calming stone. This stone will assist you in the emotional, spiritual, and physical planes to provide calm, balance, patience, and peace. Its beautiful and mystic violet color will psychologically evoke peace. But, more importantly, its energy vibrations can be beneficial in your personal journey. Amethyst is used as a dream stone and to help cure insomnia and alcoholism. Put an amethyst under your pillow to bring about pleasant dreams.

Fluorite

Fluorite is commonly used for clarity and can make you more receptive to the vibrations of other stones. Fluorite is also known as the "Genius Stone" because it raises your power of concentration.

Remember, gemstones are just aids on the path. Don’t go overboard and spend thousands of dollars on gemstones for your body and home. You don't want to become co-dependent on the healing power of stones or other forms of energy healing. You are responsible for working on yourself through the path of yoga and meditation and the development of your intuition to find personal clarity.
