As modern-day enthusiasts of Vedanta philosophy and seekers of truth, we know – at least intellectually – that everything is made up of energy and information, and that this quantum field is what we refer to as the field of pure consciousness. This is who and what we are. Knowledge and experience go hand in hand, however. Without direct personal experience of this knowledge do we really understand its meaning at the deepest level, or does it simply remain an intellectual idea? Let’s explore this concept further.
It has been said that consciousness is energy and information that is self-aware, and that the universe is the movement of this energy and information. If this is true, then it makes sense that we, as consciousness itself, have the ability to move and transform energy and information. Nothing mystical or magical here, just the quantum mechanical functioning of our true reality. The human nervous system is capable of consciously changing the information that makes up the physical body, which therefore means that we, as human beings, have the ability to directly influence the informational content of our extended body; the environment, and the world. This is how we manifest our deepest desires.
In the beginning there was desire, which was the first seed of mind; sages, having meditated in their hearts, have discovered by their wisdom the connection of the existent with the non-existent. ―The Hymn of Creation, The Rig Veda
There are three critical components to manifesting; attention, intention, and present moment awareness. As Deepak writes in The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, “Attention energizes and intention transforms. Whatever you put your attention on grows stronger in your life. Whatever you take your attention away from will wither, disintegrate, and disappear. Intention, on the other hand, triggers transformation of energy and information. Intention organizes its own fulfillment.” It is in present moment awareness that we perceive the quality of our intention on the object of our attention. If our intentions and desires are in alignment with the highest expression of how we are living our daily lives, they will come to manifest.
A good place to start is with the soul questions that we ask just before going into meditation or when observing some quiet time.
Ask yourself these questions:
By asking these questions, we become more clear about who it is we see ourselves as and what we want to manifest in the physical realm. Then the exploration goes deeper into a realization of who we truly are at the core of our being, what it is that we want to experience more of in this life, and how we can identify our dharma or purpose.
Considering these questions on a material and spiritual level brings us closer to our soul through a gradual recognition that we’re not connecting to a separate version of ourselves, we are actualizing a connection with our Self. By asking these questions before going into meditation, then letting them go and allowing the universe to work out the details, the attention we have placed on our intention activates the field of infinite correlation, which gives rise to all that we truly desire.

- “How can I serve others using my unique talents?”
- “What am I grateful for?”
