In order to keep our products available to customers in California, this warning was added to remain in compliance with Proposition 65 (also referred to as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986).

Chopra is committed to using high quality ingredients derived from nature. This is especially true when sourcing the herbs in our Ayurvedic products. Lead, an element found naturally in water, soil, and plants, can commonly be found in these herbs, and is the chemical related to the Proposition 65 warning. Many natural foods sourced from the earth contain exceedingly low levels of lead, but enough to require this warning.

To continue making our products accessible to all, Chopra has decided to issue the Proposition 65 warning, as opposed to limiting access for Californians. Any product sold in California that potentially exposes a customer to ingesting more than 0.5 micrograms (1000 times lower than what has been shown to have no observable effect on humans or animals) of lead in a day is required to include this warning. Any lead detected in an ingredient of ours is naturally occurring, and never intentionally added by Chopra.
